Katoke - Dear Family...

Robert and Ann Burgess worked for eight years with the Church Missionary Society in Tanzania. Katoke Teachers' College was a boarding college run by an alliance of Protestant Churches training primary school teachers. They were the only New Zealanders on the staff.

During their eight years away, Robert's mother kept all their letters home, and gave them to them on their return.

At long last Ann has had time to use these letters to write a book. Not a book of letters, a history or geography book, but hopefully a readable account of life on a remote mission station, and one that shows the intrinsic contribution made by those who stay at home and pray and write.
